  1. Greetings, folks! The Starlighter has returned once again, as promised. But
  2. this time, I'm not alone! Meet "Zero Divide", "Fatal Error" (get it?), and
  3. "Spinblade Runner" all new, excellent ROTT level designers, assisting me in a
  4. super-project.
  5.  
  6.                     THE          IRON          WARS!
  7.  
  8. This level, which is TOTALLY PLAYABLE IN EITHER SINGLE PLAYER OR COMM-BAT,
  9. is a sample level of Iron Wars (IW)! IW is joined effort by myself and
  10. several other ROTT Level designers. Check out below to see what it's about!
  11.  
  12. THE PRIMARY GOALS:
  13. 100 totally new levels!
  14. All levels to be compatible for both single play and Comm-Bat!
  15. All the bosses will be returning!
  16. All the secrets, including the DIP Balls and Scott's Head!
  17. A batch file to start the game without having to run SETUP!

  19. THE SECONDARY GOALS:
  20. A modified .WAD file, containing many new textures!
  21. Not just some crap converted from other games. TOTALLY NEW! Got that?
  22. TOTALLY NEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  26. Ok, here's the low-down of the level:
  27. This level, called Footage location, is map E2A7 of IW. It's a boss level with
  28. Krist in it.
  29. Footage Location:
  30. One of the many filming sites used way back when Triad Pictures made movies.
  31. Well, Krist (Apposed Psycho Of The Year) is re-living an old movie...and
  32. casting YOU as the enemy! A few dozen of well-trained guards to protect him
  33. in his playground. In this level, you'll have to search high and low for the
  34. seven secret Touchplants and Switches. Ride moving GADS, outsmart sneeky
  35. guards, and dodge deadly fire attacks, all topped off with a final, deadly
  36. hide-and-seek showdown with Krist himself!

  38. TIME FOR SOME CREDIT:
  39. OK, here's the 'WHO DID WHAT?' of Footage Location.
  40. Zero Divide:
  41. Half of map, Life Item Placements, Some "triad" placements, some touchplants,
  42. enemy placement, most danger placements, Comm-Bat spawn spots.
  43. The Starlighter (Me.)
  44. Other half of map, Most "triad" placements, most touchplants and switches,
  45. Krist and his little battle field, health items, weapons, and map settings.
  46. (oh yeah, and this TXT file.)

  48. Editors Used: ROTT Mapper Deluxe v3.0
  49. Known Bugs:
  50. There is no way to exit from this level. So, once you reach Krist's lair,
  51. you've won! Either start a new game or defeat Krist and watch the lovely error
  52. that occures. This problem will be fixed in the full version of AE. Other than
  53. that, there shouldn't be any other problems. Although I won't be surprised if
  54. we missed anything. If you have any additional problems, please e-mail me and
  55. The Gang and I will get around to fixing it.

  57. IW should be ready in about 4-6 months. We've already made 2 episodes worth of
  58. levels; the only reason why it take so long is because of the external .WAD
  59. file. We plan to replace *ALL* the textures, as this won't be done in a day.
  60. Also, I dought we'll get away with less than a MEG.
